Tao Kaiyuan, Vice President of the Supreme People's Court, visited Nanjing Maritime Court

On June 11th, 2021, Tao Kaiyuan, Vice President of the Supreme People’s Courtofthe People’s Republic of China, led a research visit to Nanjing Maritime Court (hereinafter referred to as “NMC”), accompanied by Xia Daohu, Secretary of the Party Group and President of the High People's Court of Jiangsu Province.

Tao Kaiyuan and other officials investigated the one-stop dispute resolution center for water traffic accidents and “Sailing”- nomocracy square of NMC, gaining an in-depth understanding of the staffing, workflow and actual accomplishments of this center. Andtheyalsoaskedaboutthe process of dealing with typical cases such as the “Jinshunhang 5188”.After watching NMC’s “To be the First to Take Charge work report video and the demonstration of the ship execution and control system, Tao Kaiyuan fully appreciated the accomplishments achieved by NMC since set up.

Tao Kaiyuan hoped that the Nanjing Maritime Court will earnestly implement the requirements put forward by Zhou Qiang, the president of theSupremeCourtfor maritime trials involving foreign commercial matters and the spirit of the National Symposium on Maritime Trials. He also hoped that NMC will give full play to its function to serve and guarantee a higher level of opening up to the world.NMC should deepen its high-quality strategy, improve the effectiveness of maritime justice, inordertocreate a preferred venue for international maritime litigation and promote the construction of an international maritime justice center.

The officials of the Supreme People’s Courtofthe People’s Republic of China, theHigh People’s CourtofJiangsu Province, Nanjing Maritime Court and Nanjing Maritime Safety Administration accompanied the research.
